The David and Etta Jonas Family Foundation has four key areas of philanthropy:

Education

Education

For the David and Etta Jonas Family Foundation, education opens the door to opportunity, strengthens identity, and plants the seeds of future leadership. At the heart of this commitment is our proud support of the FIDF IMPACT! Scholarship program, which transforms the lives of Israeli combat veterans by providing full university scholarships in recognition of their service and sacrifice. We also support a broad network of educational initiatives, including Jewish day schools like Solomon Schechter and Rochelle Zell Jewish High School along with other education focused organizations like the StandWithUs Israel Link program, Birthright Israel, iTrek, Stand Strong, and Jack Miller Center’s work in civic and historical education. Each partnership reflects our belief in the power of education to strengthen Jewish values, inspire leadership, and build a stronger future for the Jewish people.
Medical Research and Healthcare

Medical Research and Healthcare

At the heart of the David and Etta Jonas Family Foundation is a profound belief in the power of science, compassion to heal, and to change lives. Our support for the University of Chicago's David and Etta Jonas Center for Cellular Therapy reflects this vision—backing groundbreaking treatments that offer new chances for recovery to patients with cancer and other devastating diseases. In Israel, our investment in Ichilov Hospital’s new Advanced Trauma Division—a cornerstone of Israel’s second-largest hospital—helps ensure that terrorist victims, civilians and soldiers alike receive urgent, lifesaving care when it matters most. These initiatives embody our enduring mission: to uplift lives, strengthen communities, and support those who carry the greatest burdens with courage and dignity.
Advancing International Relations with Israel

Advancing International Relations with Israel

The David and Etta Jonas Family Foundation is proud to support the American Israel Education Foundation, Friends of ELNET, and iTrek—organizations that are opening hearts and minds to Israel’s story on the global stage. Through educational missions, immersive experiences, and high-level policy engagement, these partners bring emerging and established leaders into direct connection with Israel’s people, values, and challenges. By deepening understanding and fostering personal relationships, we help build bridges that lead to stronger international alliances, informed advocacy, and a more secure and respected place for Israel in the world.
Community Support

Community Support

The David and Etta Jonas Family Foundation is deeply committed to building vibrant, inclusive Jewish communities. Through our support of the Jewish United Fund, Moriah Congregation, Camp Ramah, Beber Camp, Northwestern Hillel, the Israel ParaSport Center, and the Israel Tennis & Education Centers Foundation, we invest in programs that nurture identity, belonging, and resilience across generations. Whether it’s a child discovering Jewish traditions at camp, a student finding connection and purpose on campus, or a young athlete learning confidence and character through sport, these institutions reflect the values we cherish—and the strong, compassionate future we’re dedicated to helping build.
